Briefs: Verizon to sell broadband equipment

Verizon said Tuesday it will begin selling broadband networking equipment under its own brand name.

The telecommunications group will start selling products including routers, desktop cards and USB adapters under the Verizon name at its retail outlets nationwide.

"By bundling broadband services and products together, Verizon will make it easy for consumers to get what they need in one store visit," Catherine Stanley, director of brand management, said in a news release.

Products will go on sale this spring.
